Hello, I'm Freya Marton, the founder of Black Lion Workshops. I started this business in 2021 as a lockdown project, with the aim of giving unwanted lamps a new lease on life. By designing completely unique, bespoke patterns for each lamp, I transform the unloved into pieces of sustainable and functional art for beautiful homes.

I source my lamps from antique markets, eBay, or have them custom-made by a local carpenter using FSC-certified Tulip Wood. All lamps are rewired by certified electricians, ensuring both quality and sustainability.

I recently graduated with a first-class degree in Fine Art and History of Art from Newcastle University. My studio practice and academic studies greatly inform my designs.
